Fabulous Fireworks!

Over the past two weeks our focus has been Guy Fawkes. We have written some great poems, using WOW words to make our work interesting and exciting. And now we have some wonderful fireworks art displayed in our classroom.

We had to think of a WOW statement to go with our artwork for our blog.

Culture Dress-Ups

Monday the 20th September was Culture Costume Day. In Room Six we had 17 different cultures represented.

Culture in Room Six

Term three in Room 6 was all about 'Culture'. We had a few fabulous visitors - parents who came into Room 6 and told us all about things that happen in Scotland, China and Holland. The students brought in items from various cultures to share for news. We wrote, we did artworks, we discussed and we learned more about the different 'CULTURES IN OUR WORLD'.

Antoni's award winning story

This week Room 7 is very proud of our class-mate Antoni who won second prize in a Northland story writing competition. The competition is run by Te Tai Tokerau Literacy Association.

Here is the award winning story:

Once there was a man and his name was Jacob. He loved cars because he was a famous car driver and his race was starting today.

He is racing around a Europe mountain. He is racing right now. Wow look at him go! Oh no it looks like he’s going to crash. Phew! Just his back wheels of the car fell off the cliff then he was the first one to cross the finish line.

Congratulations Antoni! We are very proud!
